Jiadaogou Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is located at Jiagaogou, Aohan Banner, Inner Mongolia. It was named by the No. 2 Inner Mongolian Party of Regional Geological Survey in 1965.
Lithology and Thickness
Limestone, Sandstone and Claystone. The Lower part consists of gray siliceous banded limestone, limestone and polymineralogic sandstone interbedded with sandstone, intercalated with black slate. Upper part, composed of equally-thick beds of black shale and sandstone, with black crystalline limestone and clayey slate at top. Thickness 2590 m.

Lower contact
Conformable contact with the underlying Baijiadian Fm
Upper contact
Conformable contact with the overlying Jiujuzi Fm
Regional extent
Distributed at places such as Jiadaogou and Yangjiazhangzi of Anhan Banner, Yintongshan of Naiman Banner and Huangjiagou of Ongniud Banner

Fossils
The Lower part contains the Brachiopod Choristites gobicus assemblage, with the main elements including Choristites tscherngschewiformisl and Dictoyoclostus aff. gruenewaldti; Coral Lithostrotion sp.; plants Nenropteris sp., Cordaites sp., etc.; the Upper part yields the Brachiopod Choristites cf. mosquensis assemblage, including C. cf. nigerformis, Linoproductus sp. and Dictyoclostus sp.; Bivalve Allorisma sp.; Coral Diphyphyllum sp., as well as bryozoans, nautili, etc.
